I’ve always said that there is no such thing as a perfect wedding day. Flexibility is key…transportation is running behind (or takes a wrong turn), flowers are late, the groom’s sleeves are a bit long, the list goes on and on. We’ve done enough weddings to know this little fact. Regardless of how well a couple plans their wedding, any given day is unpredictable which means there is the potential for even the smallest of things to happen. The only true thing that is perfect about a wedding day is the fact that the bride and groom are married. For Ted and Anne, I know this fact to be very true. 😉
Their wedding took place at the Hilton Resort in Destin, Florida. It was an absolutely beautiful location to be married. The wedding weekend started off with the rehearsal and dinner followed with the wedding the next day. Everyone was ready to celebrate the wedding of Ted & Anne.
After having a week of beautiful sunshine, it was hard to fathom the idea of rain. Well, lo and behold, just minutes before the ceremony you could hear the thunder and see the clouds rolling in. This didn’t stop the energy of their day. They ran with it, literally, as we all did…just minutes after the first kiss. Even though my insides were in ‘somewhat’ of a panic mode (we hadn’t taken any photos beforehand-yikes) everyone made the most of it. Meaning, the rain stopped for about 30 minutes…long enough for us to crank out the photos. And, believe me…we all worked it in that 30 minutes!! It fell into place just as it needed to…Ted and Anne were happy. Flexibility equaled perfection.
*Notice the rather large raindrops that start to appear on some of the guests as the ceremony photos roll through…I still laugh reliving the moment.
Their night ended just as it needed to…lots of dancing, lots of laughter, lots of memories. Sure, their day didn’t go exactly as planned…it wasn’t ‘perfect.’ Yet, all I heard Anne say throughout the day was, “I don’t care because I get/got to marry Ted.” In the whole scheme of things, that is all that mattered…making their day true perfection.
Ted and Anne…I don’t even know where to begin. Tears come to my eyes when I think of your day…good tears. There was so much love surrounding you all that even the torrential downpour we experienced didn’t dampen your spirits. It was such an honor to be a part of your day, not only as your photographers, but as your friends. Much love to you both!

It WAS perfect — in every way — a magical weekend filled with lots of love & memories to last a lifetime. Love you so!
