So, the Thursday before their wedding I get a text from Jeanine saying, ‘Should we discuss a back up plan for photos if there is a tornado on Saturday? I mean, I know you guys are experts, but… 😉 let me know.’ I couldn’t help but laugh when I read her text. I had been watching the forecast in hopes that they were going to be off, but as we were nearing into Friday I knew it was time to come up with a new plan. You see, Luc is from France and they were seeking an old world theme for their wedding which is why they chose the IMA for their reception venue. Because of this, having torrential downpours/potential tornadoes made taking photos outdoors and their outdoor reception a bit of a concern. So, the afternoon before, I went searching for another indoor location that would emulate the grounds of the IMA…indoors…south of downtown Indianapolis. The back-up plans were accomplished and we felt as prepared as we could be for this lovely, unpredictable Indiana weather (including quite the array of umbrellas). I woke up the morning of their wedding, said another prayer, looked at the forecast, and saw the inevitable…80-90% chance for storms all day/potential for tornadoes. Ugh…….so, we went with it. Everyone was in perfect spirits, we made arrangements for our back-up plan and waited for the rain to fall. And, we waited, and waited. We had a few sprinkles, and that was it. Their day turned out to be absolutely perfect. I was so thankful that the forecast was 100% wrong…answered prayers, for sure.
And, that was just the weather for their day. I could go on and on with memorable stories of the amazing couple, their wonderful friends, and the dearest of families. We loved being a part of their day, and were honored that they chose us. We are developing quite the history with this group of friends and love that chance (with some of God’s help) brought us all together.
Jeanine and Luc…you’re beautiful inside and out. We adore you both and are so thankful that the many weddings prior to yours is what brought you to us. Many blessings and love to you both!
