There is a special place in my heart for those who are older. I don’t know if it’s their wisdom, their demeanor or their pace of life. I have always loved sitting and talking about their life experiences, especially when it came to my grandparents. I have heard many stories and have actively seen the love they have had for each other and for those around them. My dad’s mom passed away 2 days before Claire was born. It was such a bitter-sweet time for me. I saw an amazing life end only to have a new life begin. It was then that I realized how quickly life goes. It was then that I wanted to remember everything possible about the path they helped pave for me. It was then that I realized the impact they have made within our own family…one of true love and devotion.
You have heard me talk about heirloom sessions time and time again. I have such a passion for these. I don’t know what it is about incorporating images in with video, but it takes you to that time…recalling everything that took place, remembering the beauty that was found, not only in the day, but with the lives it involved. This particular session focused on two love birds who will be celebrating their 60th anniversary this November. John, of Northernlight Filmworks, and I captured this time for this beautiful family. We have more sessions to share with you soon.
I can’t say enough about the Hopkins family. I knew from the first time I read their granddaughter’s, Serena, email about her grandparents that I was going to love them. I honestly felt like I could be a part of their family…they welcomed us with open arms and were willing to share their thoughts and feelings throughout the entire session. You will see that this session was customized to their family…it was about capturing the legacy that has been planted for their family to follow. We wanted to capture as much of it as we could, so that years from now they can hold onto the memory of two people that have paved the way for them with their love, faith and dedication.
So beautiful!!!!!! Brought tears to my eyes and I don’t even know them! 🙂
